Finally available: DirectX support for Sony FireWire cameras
Sony recently released the first WDM driver for their FireWire cameras. At the same time a drastic price cut took place:

Based on this, these cameras finally support the Windows infrastructure DirectX. Hence, you are able to access the FireWire cameras directly via operating system functions. Here you will find details explaining this concept:
